Live World Cup Cricket: South Africa v England

In a few minutes South Africa and England go toe to toe in the 21st Cricket Match of the ICC Cricket World Cup 2011. For England, facing South Africa at this juncture, simply has to seem seem an ominous task. England, fresh of a humiliating loss to neighboring Ireland, is up against a team that just demolished the Netherlands by 231 runs. Talk about two ships passing headed in opposite directions.
So far in the ICC Cricket World Cup 2011 has given England no breaks. Meanwhile South Africa is enjoying one of the best seam attacks in all World Cup play, a 5 game winning streak attests to this. And now it is do or die time for England, and it could not have come to this against a tougher opponent (we said that already). But seriously, if England is to keep any hope of a semi-final appearance alive, they simply must win this one – without a win today, England’s fate is on other team’s hands.

It Is What It Is – A Must Win for England

For this match, a whole lot of analysis is not really necessary. South Africa is on a roll, and their balance looks as good as anyone’s. As for England, everyone knows they can bring it to a big game like this – but frankly, they could not bowl their way out of a wet paper bag so far in the World Cup. I know that’s blunt, but it’s also true. England has given up 956 runs so far. 292 of those were allowed the Netherlands, another 338 to India (more like India took them), and  329 were spanked in by Ireland. Put it this way, Australia could not beat almost anyone giving over those kinds of numbers.
So, England is going to have to turn over a new leaf from the toss today. For those of you who have not hooked up with a good online feed to watch the game via, we have found a few streams, some of which are quite good (considering they are free).  As for the match, we will update this article as the game unfolds. Despited our criticism of England, everyone really expects and exciting one from Chennai. The two squads for today’s match are listed below the feeds.
