Cricket World Cup: Bangladesh cruise past Netherlands

World Cup Group B, Chittagong:
Bangladesh 166-4 (41.2 ovs) bt Netherlands 160 (46.2 ovs) by six wkt

Kayes played beautifully to see Bangladesh through to their small target

Co-hosts Bangladesh boosted their hopes of qualifying for the quarter-finals of the World Cup as they eased to victory over the Netherlands in Chittagong.
The six-wicket win means England must beat West Indies and hope other results go their way - or be eliminated.
Bangladesh bowled the Dutch out for only 160 in 46.2 overs, with Abdur Razzak taking 3-29 and Ryan ten Doeschate top scoring with 53 not out.
The Tigers reached their target in 41.2 overs, Imrul Kayes hitting 73 not out.
The emphatic nature of Bangladesh's victory only succeeds in further complicating the scenario in Group B, with no team yet through to the quarter-finals.
Only the Netherlands are out of quarter-final contention, with India, West Indies, South Africa, Bangladesh, England and Ireland all competing for the top four berths.
And the result increases the pressure on England, who face the Windies in Chennai on Thursday knowing anything less than a win will end their World Cup campaign - but that still might not be enough, depending on other results.
The Dutch - who have now lost all five of their World Cup games - will be hugely disappointed to have succumbed in such tame fashion after skipper Peter Borren won the toss in Chittagong and decided to bat first.
Netherlands' Ryan ten Doeschate
Ten Doeschate's innings was a rare highlight for Netherlands
On a slow track it was the Bangladeshi spinners who dominated proceedings, with captain Shakib Al Hasan, Suhrawadi Shuvo and Razzak proving difficult to get away.
Eric Szwarczynski (29) and Tom Cooper (28) both started well, but the Netherlands' running between the wickets left much to be desired and both men were run out, along with Borren for three and last man Adeel Raja for a duck.
It was left to Ten Doeschate, batting at five, to get the Dutch total over the 150 mark, the Essex all-rounder being dropped on 14 and going on to reach fifty from 65 balls with a slash to the boundary off Razzak.
Ten Doeschate was left high and dry when Raja was run out, but Bangladesh's reply got off to the worst possible start as Tamim Iqbal played on to the fourth ball of the innings from Mudassar Bukhari as he departed without scoring.
Kayes and Junaid Siddique began the rebuilding job and were both hugely impressive, putting on 92 in 20.1 overs to kill off any hopes the Dutch had of getting back into the contest, Kayes bringing up his half-century from 68 balls.
Siddique struck four fours before he cut a long hop off Borren straight to Peter Seelar at extra cover, but the Dutch, although they managed to keep the runs down, could not take the wickets required to put Bangladesh under pressure.
Shahriar Nafees (37) added a further 59 in partnership with Kayes to take the Tigers to the brink of victory, though they had a brief wobble when he was bowled by Cooper and Shakib fell to the same bowler, courtesy of a stunning diving catch from Ten Doeschate.
But Mushfique Rahim smashed a six off Cooper to secure Bangladesh's second successive victory at the World Cup and give them a chance of reaching the last eight ahead of their next game against South Africa in Mirpur on Saturday.
