Hyundai Motor India Limited (HMIL) has announced its association with one of the biggest sports extravaganza of the season – ICC Cricket World Cup. India's second largest carmaker is the official car partner for the ICC Cricket World Cup 2011.Hyundai is the country's largest exporter and it will now be the official car partner for the International Cricket Council (ICC) from 2011 to 2015. The carmaker will have exclusive category rights as well.According to the terms of the contract Hyundai Motors will ferry all the ICC officials, players and VIP guests. That is players and guests will use Hyundai vehicles to move around for the entire duration of the ICC Cricket World Cup 2011 and the contract extends till 2015. Hyundai will also ferry the participants at the Women's World Cup and the T20 championship. Hyundai will engage almost all of its vehicles for the purpose. The Hyundai i10, Hyundai Verna Transform, Hyundai Santa Fe and Sonata Transform will be used during the events giving the company immense visibility and publicity.The association between carmakers and sports is an old one. Carmaker Volvo is one such company that supports various types of sports events across the country. The company had given its luxury sedan Volvo S80 as man of the match prize in an ODI in India.Hyundai Motors is also the official transport partner for the FIFA World Cup. Hyundai might also have "Hyundai Fan Park" for customers to get together and watch cricket matches live on large screens.
